Polaris AAA is our highest performing low-hydrogen electrode designed for welding problem steels such as cast steel, Cor-Ten, nickel-bearing, and high-grade structural alloys. It excels at welding through contamination, producing sound, heat-treatable welds with exceptional strength and ductility, even on challenging surfaces. Polaris AAA ensures easy welding in all positions and provides free-machining deposits, making it ideal for tough applications. Perfect for mining and construction equipment, boilers, tanks, piping, and crack-sensitive steels, Polaris AAA’s ability to weld through contamination and deliver reliable, high-strength welds makes it a top choice for critical repairs and maintenance, including hard-surfacing applications as a hard-surfacing pad. Application: Use close arc length. For vertical welds, lower amperage, weld from bottom up and weave. Do not whip. Overhead and horizontal, use stringer beads. Down hand, weave a maximum of 2-1/2 times rod diameter. Always preheat heavy sections.
